Madagascar to increase cement production fivefold by 2025.

The launching ceremony of the Ibity Cementis Madagascar plant expansion project took place on December 8, 2022 under the high patronage of the President of the Republic of Madagascar Andry Rajoelina.

A framework agreement was signed between the Minister of Industrialization, Trade and Consumer Affairs Mr. Edgar Razafindravahy and the Chairman of the CEMENTIS Group, Colin Taylor.

The expansion of the plant will allow production to increase from 180,000 tonnes to 1 million tonnes per year.

This new local production capacity will change the construction landscape in Madagascar and have a positive impact on the construction industry.

Let’s build our future in Madagascar by 2025, with:
An island self-sufficient in cement production
Cement more accessible to the Malagasy population.

This key development for Madagascar is part of President Andry Rajoelina’s vision for the promotion of industrialization, included in the Madagascar Emergence Plan.
